This is because our bodies crave foods that are rich and high in carbohydrates, so check the next time you have a craving if it is not a result of a lack for sleep.

A Type of Trans Fat That Makes You Leaner?

30 Sep

Hi

I wanted to share a pretty unique article with you today from my trusted colleague and Nutrition Specialist Mike Geary.

You probably thought you already knew everything you needed to know about trans fats, but this article may surprise you…

A type of Trans Fat that makes you leaner?

We all know that trans fats are horrible for your health right? But what if I told you that there is a specific type of trans fat that’s natural (not man-made) and actually helps you to lose fat faster and build lean muscle?

Well, check out the excerpt from my new program that I co-authored called “The Fat Burning Kitchen” below:

“…Not many people know this fact, but CLA is actually a natural form of trans fat, but it is FAR different than the artificial trans fats from hydrogenated oils that are so deadly and that you hear all of the negative information about. CLA is actually one of the only healthy trans fats in existence.

CLA is a natural form of healthy trans fat that occurs in the fat on the meat, and in the dairy from ruminant animals such as cattle, bison, deer, goats, sheep, kangaroo, etc. CLA in natural form has been shown to help in burning off abdominal fat and also maintaining or even building lean muscle.

Warning: do NOT use CLA supplements as they contain an artificially created form of CLA that is a different CLA isomer compared to the natural CLA isomer that’s found in meats and dairy from ruminant animals. The CLA isomer found in CLA supplements can have negative effects in the body and is more similar to an artificial trans fat. The only form of CLA is that going to benefit your health and help you to reduce body fat is the natural CLA isomers from grass-fed beef, bison, venison, etc or from grass-fed raw milk or cheeses.

Also, grass-fed meats and dairy contain 3-5x the CLA of grain fed meats, so avoid your typical grain-fed grocery store meats.

So that is the reason why I focused more on red meats such as grass-fed beef and bison during this 23-day cutting cycle instead of chicken, turkey, or fish — because the extra CLA can really help in accelerating fat loss and preserving lean muscle…”

There you have it… there actually IS such a thing as a healthy trans fat… bet you didn’t know that!

This was an excerpt from my brand new program I just co-authored with an extremely knowledgeable nutrition expert named Catherine Ebeling.

The program is called “The Fat Burning Kitchen”.

Because this is our launch week… you can grab the program for half price this week only. The price will double in a few days at the end of the week.

Also, I wanted to really knock your socks off with this program, so if you grab a copy this week, I even decided to throw in a special bonus section that gives you every single nitty gritty detail of how I just went from 10.2% bodyfat down to 6.9% bodyfat in only 23 days while I prepped for a photo shoot recently.

This is advanced stuff for when you might have an event such as a wedding or a beach vacation coming up and you need to knock off some significant bodyfat in only 3-4 weeks time frame. There’s nothing unhealthy here… but these techniques are definitely “amped up” from the norm.

When I say nitty gritty details… I’m talking everything, including specific spices, teas, nutrients, exactly what I ate, carb/protein/fat ratios and how I manipulated timing of nutrients to accelerate fat loss.

Seriously, we did the body comp tests and I went from 10.2% BF to 6.9% BF in only 23 days. I’ll be sharing the pics on my blog in a week or 2, when I get the finals back from the photographer.

You’ll find out all of those details of how I did this in the bonus chapter if you grab a copy this week.

Check it out here!

Get your copy today so you don’t miss out on the half price special.

Enjoy!

Are You Following These 7 Tips To Healthy Eating?

24 Sep

Eat your way to a DSC01854healthier you.

Healthy eating takes planning, especially if you are on the move during the day. Without a plan you can find yourself eating unhealthy foods or foods that are empty in calories or eating irregularly, which can jeopardize your weight loss efforts and prevent your body from performing optimally. Here is my recommendation to healthy nutrition, which worked for me:

1. Cut down on fast foods. Yes I know that it can be very tempting at times and it can be hard to say no to that burger and fries or that pizza, but fast foods can be high in fat and calories.

2. Reduce your intake of fats especially the fat found in red meat and chicken skin. This fat is also a source of cholesterol, so not only are your weight loss efforts in vain you are seriously compromising your health.

3. Some of us do have a sweet tooth, but it is important to cut down on the sugar, especially processed sugar. If you do have a craving, opt for a fruit or 100% juice, instead of sodas and sweets.

4. Remember what your parents and teachers used to say about fruit and vegetables? They were right, it is very good for you. Try and aim for five portions of fruits and vegetables a day. The general rule is, the more color your fruits and vegetables have, the more beneficial they are for your body.

5. Eating out has proved to be a challenge for some people, but it does not have to be. Opt for grilled foods, vegetables and if you opt for salad, choose a salad that does need salad dressing. If you have to use salad dressing, opt for dressing that is light in fat.

6. Meal skipping is a big no. Aim for three balanced meals and a fruit or vegetable snack in between. This will ensure your body has the energy it needs and it will not go into starvation mode.

7. Regulate your portions. Rather spread your meal over a couple of hours instead of having a huge meal on one seating. Do not wait until you are nearing starvation to eat, because then you will consume more food than you need.

Maintaining your body weight
is not just about looking good, it is about good nutrition and health. It shouldn’t be something that is done temporarily; it is a way of life. Losing weight will require that you eat right, control your portions and incorporate some form of exercise.

Top 7 Foods That Burn Calories

12 Sep

YummyHi there,

If you are like me, you will embrace any method that you can use to ensure you burn calories without exercising or going to the gym. Exercise is great and I love doing it, but I definitely will say yes to any help I can get to ensure my body burns the calories that I want it to. Here are the top foods that you want to have included in your diet:

1. Fruits. We know fruits are good for our bodies but we are talking about fruit that are rich in vitamin C. The vitamin C helps in releasing the fat from the body, thereby helping with calorie burning. The fruits include Apples, Water melon, Oranges, strawberry, lemons and Grapefruit

2. Vegetables. These vegetables also contain vitamin C and they work pretty the same way that the fruits work. These include cucumber, Carrots, Tomatoes, Chilies, Broccoli, Cabbage and Celery

3. Green tea. It increases your metabolism and burns calories.

4. Dairy products like cheese and milk. Dairy products contain calcium and protein. The calcium and protein that comes from low fat products help with weight loss.

5. Foods that are high in fiber. These include whole grain food like whole grain pasta or bread. The body works harder to burn fiber in your body. The harder it works the more calories it will burn.

6. Lean meats. Chicken, turkey, sirloin are rich in iron. Iron forms hemoglobin in your body and it carries the oxygen in your red blood cells. Without the optimal amount of oxygen in the body, which means less hemoglobin, your energy levels will drop and so will your metabolism. A drop in metabolism means lower calories burned.
7. Garlic. Yes I know what you are thinking, it may leave your mouth smelling and undesirable but not only does garlic have healing advantages, it boosts your metabolism.

I bet most of these foods are in your kitchen cupboards right now, and what will be left for you to do is to include them as part of your daily nutrition. These foods are great also if used as snack, as opposed to the candy and chips.

Malnutrition is not to be taken lightly, so strife to have a balanced healthy meal at all times. These foods can be a great help if included in your nutrition but the best way to help them work their magic is to include an exercise plan in your daily life. Exercise still remains the best calorie burning thing that you can do.
