Fat Burning Drive – How Many Calories Do You Need To Consume To Lose Weight

14 Aug

A lot of people who are trying to lose weight are trying to figure out how many calories they should be consuming in a day for them to be able to lose weight. Fortunately there is a way to figure out the answer to this pressing question, if you have that fat burning drive to lose weight no matter what.

In order to figure it out, we will need to use some sort of formula. The formula of ideal weight times a multiplier can be used by people who wish to determine how many calories they should be consuming in the quest to lose weight.

To begin, one needs to determine what their ideal weight is. The formula then needs for one determine just how active they are. For instance, 10 is for people who are not active, 11 is for folks that are mildly active, 12 is for the guys who are quite active and 13 is for the people that are extremely active.

Here is an example so that you cam see how everything ties together:

this person is not that active and they decide that their ideal weight is 160 pounds.

Calories to consume a day to get to his ideal weight is = 160 x 10 = 1600

This mean that this person needs to consume 1600 calories a day, not more, to achieve their weight to be 160 pounds.

As we know, weight loss can be difficult and in certain cases impossible to achieve without exercise and healthy eating, so it stands to reason that with the new consumption in calories should also come an exercise plan and healthy eating habits.

After a person determines how many calories that he or she should consume per day in order to lose weight, that individual should keep a food diary. The diary needs to record every food and calorie that he or she consumes on a daily basis. Thus, a person will know if he or she is eating the amount of calories that will achieve weight loss. Patterns will start to become ingrained in a person after he or she has kept a food diary for some time.

At this point, it should be noted that a person should not become discouraged if his or her food diary indicates that the amount of calories consumed on a given day was greater than what was needed in order to achieve weight loss. Everyone is going to have some bad days here and there.

In the quest to count calories and lose weight, a person should absolutely not cut out ice cream and other sweets. Treats are fine in moderation. The idea is to eat more healthy things and less fattening things, and a person should not deprive himself or herself of sweets. He or she just needs to eat less of them than they did in the past.

In addition to eating sweets in moderation, a person should learn about healthier food choices as he or she continues to keep a food diary. More vitamins, fiber, and protein should be included in a person’s diet. Likewise, his or her daily eating regimen should include less fat and sugar at the same time. Furthermore, the Internet is a great source of many healthy recipes. It is exciting to try out and make different dishes that prove to be beneficial to one’s health as well.

It should be noted that calorie counting and eating healthy should not be thought of as a temporary diet. Rather, they should be part of an overall healthy lifestyle that a person maintains for the rest of his or her life. An individual has to think about his or her new regimen on a long-term basis as opposed to only something to be done in the short term.

In conclusion, calorie counting and weight loss are facts of life for many people. A person can follow a series of different steps that can help him or her to achieve a healthy lifestyle and cut calories.

Strengthening Your Liver: Liver Health and Successful Weight Loss

14 Aug

Many people work out regularly but still find it difficult to lose weight.  If this has been your experience, it may benefit you to focus on liver health.  The liver is the second largest human organ and plays a major role in the body’s digestion and detoxification.  An organ responsible for about 500 bodily functions, the liver is essential for life. When the liver is not functioning properly, it can begin to store fat throughout the body, making weight loss impossible.

The liver makes bile, an enzyme that digests lipids (fats), and filters toxins out of the blood.  When we consume too many toxins such as alcohol and processed sugars, our livers become overwhelmed and are not able to properly perform either task.  If the liver cannot produce enough enzymes to digest the amount of lipids entering the body, the lipids are changed to fat which is stored throughout the body in places such as the butt and abdomen.

Other problems associated with decreased liver function include water retention, failure to regulate levels of glucose, blood pressure increase, and hormone imbalance.  All of these problems make it impossible to adequately lose weight.  If you are working out regularly but still struggling with weight loss, you may find it helpful to incorporate a diet that improves liver function.

Here are some helpful diet tips for improving liver health:

1. Drink 8-12 glasses of water daily
This is not a myth; drinking lots of water will actually increase weight loss.  Water cleanses your liver so that it can produce the proper digestive enzymes which will in turn speed up your metabolism. If you don’t want to count your glasses of water do what I do and try for two clear coloured urinations a day.

2. Stay away from artificial sweeteners
There are several products on the market that promote using artificial sweeteners as a means of losing weight.  However, artificial sweeteners are actually toxic to the liver.  Like most things, consuming small amounts of these sugar substitutes is not dangerous, but putting too much in your body can greatly impair your ability to lose weight.

3. Eat less processed foods
This is fairly basic.  The less processed foods you eat, the healthier you will be.  Fresh foods, especially fruits and vegetables, are easier for the body to digest and provide more nutrients which will keep your body operating efficiently.

4. Perform a detox
A detox can be very helpful in eliminating toxins from the body.  I completed a month-long detox and found that I felt both healthier and more energetic when it was over.  However, it’s very important to do research and find a quality detox program.

5. Healing power of herbs
Some herbs can help give your liver a helping hand. Dandelion and Milk Thistle can be a good start. Also the Chinese herb Dong Quai has been successfully used as a liver tonic.

If you cannot seem to lose weight, try introducing a few of these suggestions for improving liver health, they may be able to jump start your weight loss program.

Green Tea Is Good For The Heart

23 Jun

Most of us know that green tea is good for our bodies and our health, and in this post I am going to focus on the fact that green tea is great for the heart.

Drinking green tea on a daily basis is something that all of us should be gunning for, because it helps us in maintaining a healthy heart. What is does is widen the main artery that goes from our shoulders to the elbow, and it would widen the artery by up to 4%, and this is great because this decreases the possibility of one having a  blood clot.

And it does this in 30 minutes after enjoying a cup of green tea. This is great news because  it clearly shows how the blood flow can be improved in the body and it happens on a short term basis to the large arteries that benefit.

A research was done when healthy volunteers were asked to drink green tea, some hot water as well as caffeine. After they consumed these beverages, their brachial artery was measured at 3 stages of the test, and what was found is that the artery had widened by up to 4% in 30 minutes for the people who drank the green tea. As for the volunteers that drank water or the caffeine, there was no difference in the artery.

There are additional benefits for people who smoke. Drinking 4 cups of green tea a day reduces their risk of getting cancer. This is because green tea reverses the endothelial dysfunction as a result of the anticarcinogenic effects, which discourages the chances of tumors from happening.

Green tea is popular in Japan and China and it has been used there for years and years, and so the people there have been enjoying the antioxidants that are in it for a long time.

Green tea also reduces the amount of bad cholesterol that is known as LDL, as well as he high blood pressure. This immediately improves ones health, and that is why more people should be seeking to drink green tea.

There are a lot of benefits to introducing it to ones diet, and there are also a lot of green teas in the market today. And of course they differ in how effective they are, how pure they are and their quality.

The best green tea in the market right now is Tava tea, and it is the one that gets my vote. The reason why I recommend it is that it contains 3 of the most powerful teas namely Oolong, Sencha and Puerh. if offers amazing health benefits and as an extra benefit it is a great effective weight loss tea.

Calorie Confusion Review – A Real Weight Loss Solution

4 May

Calorie Confusion is a new weight loss concept that is guaranteed to get results for people who have struggling to lose weight!

Let me ask you this question, have you gotten to a place in your life where you are just sick and tired of being fat? Or where you are just plain tired because you have tried all these different ways and you are still no where near where you want to be?

Or maybe you have vowed to try something that you are so determined to stick with until you get the results that you want? I know I have . . .

If you look around, you will see that there are many products online that at first glance seem to have a solution to your needs, only to find that someone out there is trying to make a quick buck out of you.

There are a lot of products, pills, vitamins, supplements and most just seem to know exactly what will help you transform your body. However, there is a new concept that is getting quite a lot of attention at the moment, and it is called Calorie Confusion.

This way of eating teaches people to “confuse” their body/brain & metabolism by switching their calorie intake each day. By doing this, their body/brain & metabolism can never figure out how many calories are coming their way…so they can’t adjust & reset.  So the weight melts off, week after week!

It is a totally new concept to me, and that is why I had to take a closer look. I love that there are no food restrictions, or food combinations that you have to adhere to.

It is totally realistic, and I love the idea of a confused metabolism.
