I am sure you have heard the saying, that what you believe becomes your reality. It is true, some of you may have seen it in your lives, and I can honestly say that it is the same when it comes to your weight loss.

Just yesterday I bought and burger and fries because it is my cheat day. the plan was to eat half the fries and half the burger for lunch and eat the other halves for supper. But that never happened, I ate everything in one seating and I was so not impressed with myself.

How many times have you done that, eating half of something with the intention of eating the other half later? I guess it happens to the best of us, because in my mind, I thought to myself that the burger is so good, and it won’t be as good later.

It is almost like the second you are cutting the food in half, your mind almost knows that you will be eating the full portion. In a way, you are lying to yourself. If you are constantly allowing yourself to fail by succumbing to additional food then you are training your belief system in a negative way and this begins to affect all aspects of your life.

The lesson here is that if you keep deceiving yourself into eating more than you should, and giving yourself reasons or justifications pertaining to the amount of food you eat, you can forget about losing weight.

You need to be painfully honest about your situation, and you need to take the power back and reclaim your life. Everything thing that you consume is under your control, and you need to take the power back. Stop giving yourself excuses about your being overweight, do something about it.

Stop blaming your genes or your metabolism for your being fat, you can start making positive changes in your life, starting today.

DSC00930Most of us use alcohol when we go out with friends or family, and in most of our homes, alcohol is served with meals. For me, I have always used it because I am a very shy person, so it would help me socialize more with my peers. That’s the reason I have always used when I thought about why I even started to drink. It has been said that a woman should not consume more than one alcoholic day, and men are not to consume two alcoholic drinks a day. Learn these facts about alcohol and see the effects it has on your body.

1. Increases estrogen and decreases testosterone levels.

Estrogen can give you women characteristics if you are a guy, and the reduction in estrogen levels can mess up your muscle mass. For me, alcohol made me gain so much weight and increased my breast size by 3 cups. So, if you want to lose weight, stay away from alcohol or at least cut down on it.

2. Alcohol dehydrates you and causes water loss. The problem with the water loss is that it takes important minerals and vitamins that your body needs. Also, when you are dehydrated, it means that your body is craving for water, which is needed for most chemical reactions in your body.

3. Alcohol has empty calories and it increases the storage of fats. When the alcohol enters your body, the body basically gives it first preference, which means the calories that you get from food will have to wait being digested. That food ends up being stored as fat. Now you know, alcohol slows food processing in your body.

4. Alcohol contains 7 calories for every gram. Unfortunately for you and me those calories are empty, with no nutritional value for your body. If you are going to add calories into your diet, why don’t you opt for calories that are healthier?

5. I don’t know about you, but I tend to be more relaxed when I am drinking. This causes me to lower my inhibitions, and as a result it makes it easier for me to have a go at that pizza that I have been trying to avoid.

If you are planning to drink with your pals, make sure you eat a healthy balanced meal beforehand. Drinking on an empty stomach is not a good thing, and it will just end up making you feel hungry, and this will increase you binging on some take out.

You have to take care of how you manage your drinking, especially if you are trying to maintain an ideal body weight and size. A few drinks occasionally aren’t bad as long as you can handle the effects. Otherwise your muscle gaining goals can be totally affected in a very negative way.

I Fell Off My Weight Loss Wagon . . .

I wasn’t actually planning on sharing this, but I realize that it happens to the very best of us. I have been on lock-down for the past 4 days because of flu, and I haven’t been able to go to the gym. You know what the other implication is? My healthy eating regimen has gone out of the window also.

It is true that I have been in bed for the most part, but I think I used that as an excuse to have my cheat day extended to three days. So guess what I had today? My favorite Tutto pizza. It broke my heart when I dove to buy it, but, I gave myself a million reason why it is not a bad idea.

I decided to share this because I have been beating myself down because of it, which is not really helping me at this time. I have just decided right this moment that feeling guilty about it does not help me or my weight loss goals. Yes I have been sabotaging my weight loss efforts, but the fact of the matter is, it is OK. It is allowed!

All it means is that I need to learn from this, and move forward. It does not mean my healthy eating ways or my exercise regimen is out of the way, it just means I sucuumbed to a moment of weakness, I sucuumbed to the craving of eating my favorite pizza.

I am not totally impressed by it, but it just makes me want to wipe the slate clean. I will start all over tomorrow, and I will keep pressing forward. I am not going to punish myself tomorrow just because of what I did today. This is one of the mindsets we should all have if we want a succesful weight loss journey.

The lesson here is, just because we fall off the wagon now and again does not mean it is all over, or that you have failed. If it happens to you, get up and continue on that journey. Giving up is not an OPTION.

To make it easier for you to consume the remaining required water intake for the rest of the day, make sure you drink at least two glasses of water after every meal. You may also make it a habit to drink 1 glass every hour so as to meet your target. You may also have 1 or 2 glasses more before bedtime.

When you do your regular exercise routines, especially if you are doing the vigorous types, you may drink as much as you want so at to replenish the lost fluids from your body. Sweating can really dehydrate you so it is important to replenish the lost fluids as much as possible.

Aside from helping you eliminate man boobs, having your body hydrated at all times can bring benefits to your health as well. As we all know, lack of proper hydration does not only result in thirst, but it can also cause headaches, dizziness and fatigue, among other dehydration symptoms.

It is important to take note that you should not overdose in drinking too much fluid all at the same time. Take it in moderation and consistently. This way, you will never go wrong!
