We would want to know what foods would help us in the quest to lose weight in our most challenging place – the stomach. These foods will help take you to the right direction for your weight loss, and coupled with exercise, your stomach will definitely look flatter and sexier.
I encourage you to get at least some of these fat belly foods the next time you go grocery shopping. Here they are:
- Vegetables – you cannot go wrong with these. My favorite ones include Broccoli, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, spinach and cauliflower. The list can really go on, but you can just focus on the ones you enjoy and fill your fridge with them.
- Lean turkey or chicken sausage – with these you need to make sure that they are nitrite and nitrate free. Sometimes I get tired of these and I opt for grass-fed bison sausage, it just depends on how I am feeling
- Eggs – I love my eggs, and they are actually good contrary to what a lot of people think. A lot of people focus on egg whites, but I LOVE the yolk. It is nutritious and tastes the best, for me at least. Also, it has good cholesterol.
- Milk – not just any milk, my pick is coconut milk because it has good saturated fats that we should all consume as part of our health.
- Avocados – they too have great fats, they also have fiber and other nutrients that the body can use to function optimally.
- Chia or hemp seeds – these seeds are a great source of minerals, vitamins and omega 3 fatty acids. one thing to note about these seeds is that you should not buy pre ground. There is no need to grind these seeds, they can be used as they are whether you re eating them with yogurt and smoothies.
- Nuts – almonds, pecans and walnuts, I love them all. They taste good and they have healthy fats
- Cheese – Ricotta cheese or cottage. Need I say more?
- Fruits – They make great snacks and they have vitamins and nutrients that you should never let your body go without. from bananas, apples, peaches and pears to mangoes, pomegranates, kumquats, papaya, star fruit and a whole lot more. Do not forget berries, they contain anti-oxidants and other great nutrients. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, black raspberries as well as cherries – stock up as much as you want.
Stock your fridge with these foods and you will be on your way.
