<p>4.<strong> Berries</strong>, another favorites of mine! Berries have amazing health benefits that include helping the body fight cancer and heart diseases. They are high in anti oxidants and they also act as an anti-inflammatory fruit.</p>
<p>5.<strong> Spinach</strong>. Spinach is known as one of the superfoods and it is rich in vitamin c and fiber. Spinach strengthens the bones, protects against cancer, stroke, osteoporosis and heart disease. It is a must have for every household.</p>
<p>6. <strong>Legumes and Beans</strong> &#8211; these the body fight heart disease, colon cancer and helps fight a high blood pressure. As for your weight loss efforts, beans and legumes help you burn fat and building muscle.</p>
<p>7. <strong>Nuts and almonds</strong> &#8211; there are more benefits to the body when the skin is till intact. These lower your cholesterol and prevent heart diseases because of the monounsaturated fat that they contain and their high vitamin E content.</p>

<p>Sustainable weight loss involves eating properly and exercise, there is no other way around that. Should it feel like you are punishing yourself? No way. Here are 12 simple ideas that could make a big difference in your life, and it will not even feel like punishment . . .</p>
<p>1. Have the right mindset and prepare your mind for success. You need to plan in advance when it comes to what you want to accomplish, so you need to plan what you eat and sort out an exercise program for yourself that you can commit to.</p>
<p>2. Ensure you consume some protein every day, preferably at every meal. It is vital for your health and it will benefit your exercise efforts.</p>
<p>3. Get rid of refined breads and starches in your diet. If you are going to eat breads or pasta, make sure you do it during the day so that you have time to burn if off. Also important, is to consume breads and pasta in the form of whole grains.</p>
<p>4. Reduce your dairy consumption. If you are going to consume milk, drink non fat milk, eat reduced fat cheese and low fat yogurt. Just keep in mind, that a lot of the low fat yogurts contain a lot of sugar, so be sure to read the label before you buy.</p>
<p>5. Do not overdo the fruits and opt for fruits with low sugar and a lot of fiber, like apples, pears and plums for example. Take it easy on fruit juices, and limit your intake.</p>
<p>6. Nuts are not as bad as you think they are, they are actually good for you if you consume them in moderation. Try some pistachios, raw almonds, cashews, Brazil nuts just to mention a few. They are a great source of protein</p>
<p>7. Shrink the portions that you consume. Using a smaller plate will ensure that you eat less that you would if you were using a bigger plate. When you g out to eat, it is allowed to hare a plate with a friend or your spouse, this way you do not overeat.</p>
<p>8. Drink up some water as you go about your day, water has great dietary and overall health benefits for you.</p>
<p>9. Meatless meals are ok, it will lower your fat intake, and you can use that as an advantage to eat some vegetables.</p>
<p>10. Breakfast is important, so ensure that you do not skip it.</p>
<p>11. Seafood is good for your health because it is packed with Omega-3 fatty acids that have amazing health benefits. Aim for consuming these twice a week</p>
<p>12. Eat healthier and save money by taking a lunch box to work instead of buying food.</p>

<p>To be honest, for years I thought these foods were healthy and good for my body, how wrong and shocked was I when I learned the real truth.</p>
<p>The two foods on the spotlight are wheat products and fruit juice! I can almost see your eyes popping out of their sockets in disbelief! Do not worry, it is the same reaction I had when I first heard this.</p>
<p>Wheat products, which include most breads, cereals, pasta, bagels and so forth, are believed to be healthy by a lot of people. An article that I have read by <a href="http://tinyurl.com/kjwcyr">Mike Geary</a> (Certified Nutrition Specialist) suggests that a lot of people have  some level of intolerance to the gluten that is found in wheat and some grains. Gluten intolerance usually causes an extreme physical reaction when ingesting gluten and can cause one to damage their intestines and can cause a poor absorption of minerals and vitamins.</p>
<p>It is said that people who take out wheat products off their nutrition for a couple of weeks almost always see a faster loss in weight, and their indigestion and headaches get under control. So if you are consuming large amounts of wheat, stay off it for a while and enjoy the benefits of consuming less wheat.</p>
<p>When it comes to fruit, do not get it twisted, fruit is very good for you, it is consuming the juice instead of the actual fruit that will make you fat. Let me try and explain this, it is when you over consume the juice that gets squeezed out of the fruit and this causes the fiber to get left behind  in the fruit. Because the fiber gets left behind, you will not experience the full effect that fiber normally gives you because you are only consuming the juice. Secondly, the blood sugar response will be quick when you drink the fruit juice instead of consuming the actual fruit, because the juice will be lacking in fiber.</p>
<p>So now you know, if you over consume fruit juices instead of eating the actual fruit, it will make you fat. Eating whole fruits is great for a healthy overall nutrition. And you know the effects of eating wheat on your body and your weight.</p>

<p>As you know weight loss is linked to the foods that you put into your tummy. Great nutrition and exercise can, not only make you lose weight, but it can let you live a healthier and longer life and it can leave your skin looking young and vibrant.</p>
<p>Here is a list of foods that will give you energy and make you feel good, so that when you hit the gym, you are feeling strong and have the power to do the exercises you need for losing weight.</p>
<p>1. Beans – I am talking about kidney, navy, lentils, chickpeas and Northern which are all high in protein.  The best part of you eating these beans is that they contain very little fat, carbs and calories, so they will not sabotage your weight loss efforts.</p>
<p>2. Oatmeal – Oatmeal has great health benefits as it lowers the blood cholesterol. Oatmeal will fill you up and it will give you the fibers that your body craves for.</p>
<p>3. Fruits – fruits are best known for the anti oxidants that they contain with the many health benefits.</p>
<p>4. Allium foods – these foods have amazing health benefits such as aiding the body against cancer, lowering the blood pressure and preventing blood clots. So, next time you do your shopping, make sure you get onions, garlic, shallots and leeks.</p>
<p>5. Salmon – Stock up on that salmon because it is rich in protein and it contains the good fats that are recommended for your body. Did I forget to mention that it reduces heart disease?</p>
<p>6. Flax seed – these seeds contain omega 3 fatty acids, omega 6 fatty acids and omega 9 fatty acids. These are must buy foods, they fight diabetes, heart disease and high cholesterol.</p>
<p>7. Peppers – peppers contain vitamin c and beta-carotene, which are antioxidants. All peppers contain capsaicin, which helps to lower cancer risks and heart diseases.</p>
<p>8. Nuts and seeds – I know what you are thinking! Yes nuts are high in fat but they contain good fats as well as protein. So, it is ok to eat peanuts, almonds, Brazil nuts, walnuts and pistachios. They also help to lower the cholesterol.</p>
<p>9. Açai – I bet you have heard about this one. It increases your energy levels and it is rich in antioxidants.</p>
<p>10. Yogurt – yogurt contains calcium, vitamin b and protein. If you are concerned about your weight loss efforts, go for fat free.</p>
